Waters Running Too Fast For Ducks

Recent storms and increased spring run-off made the current condition of the Penticton Channel unsafe for ‘Duck Retrieval’. We could not take the chance of any of our volunteers or members being injured or swept-away, so we chose not to do the duck drop. Instead we entered all the sold duck numbers in a bucket and had an ‘old-fashioned’ raffle!
Congratulations to our winners and thank you again to Gateway Casinos and Entertainment (Cascades Casino Penticton), the Penticton Indian Band, all the youth groups who participated in selling tickets and everyone who bought a ticket.
Over $11,000 was donated back into our local communities from this event.

As We Pause to Remember…..

Logo-PortraitsOfHonourAs we pause to remember those who have fallen in wars fought long ago, most Canadians’ thoughts will also turn to those soldiers who lost their live just this year on our home soil.

Please also take time to remember those who came home from war broken, physically and emotionally, whether they be 40 or 90 years old.

The Kin Canada National service project Portaits of Honour raises funds for the families of those soldiers who did not return from Afghanistan, and to support those soldiers who returned with life-changing physical injuries and emotional trauma.
